Quote of the Week

“Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a new direction.” – Germany Kent

Tech Corner

Last week started out to be a good week for the equity markets until Friday when most of the week’s gain evaporated. For the week the S&P 500 was up +1.56%, the Dow was up +2.03%, and the Nasdaq was up just +0,75%. The fact that the Nasdaq trailed the S&P 500 and the Dow is telling us that growth, high leveraged companies, and tech are out of favor. That is not a good sign as those types of companies generally are the core of market improvement.

We don’t see any good indications that the bear market is over. Jamie Diamond the head of JP Morgan just came out with a predication that the equity markets could fall another 20%.

Inflation doesn’t seem to be abating and with OPEC saying they are cutting two million barrels production per day out of the global supply, inflation will probably get worse.    The bad news just keeps piling up.
